World Issues

My main issue with the world is child slavery. Often we don't think about this issue, we just ignore it and pretend like it doesn't exist. In many third world countries its socially excepted that children are brought and forced into slavery but the truth is it's not okay. Imagine if you were six or eight years old being forced to work in unbearable conditions, long hours, and usually being paid very poorly. At that age your main concern should be whether or not your best friend come over and play, not if you can support your family. It is unacceptable and companies that use child slavery should be boycotted. Also young girls and occasionally boys who are sold into sex slavery is absolutely appalling. People has sick, sick minds if they think that making children have sex at extremely young ages is okay.

Teen Issues

Today teenagers are faced with a wide range of issues. Including popularity, self image, bullying, pressure, grades, expectations from parents, relatives, or community, and extra curricular activities. These concerns have a huge impact on today's teens, both negative and positive.

I don't necessary think there's one main topic that causes problems for teens I think there's a lot of different ones. Every teen has different insecurities depending on their outlook on life. However one of the most common stressed about is peer pressure. Everyone encounters peer pressure in some form, in one way or another. It can be stealing, drinking, taking drugs, cheating, having sex, breaking the law, and going against your own personal beliefs. A lot of substance abuse is because of pressure, " you can't hang out with me if you don't do it," or "come on, its fun, just try it!" Also sexually, kids feel like they have to go further then they're comfortable with in order to "fit" in. Everyday peer pressures include giving answers to homework questions, etc. So overall in my opinion while every issue is serious in some way, peer pressure is a dominant matter.

Another difficult problem is having to deal with the effects of peer pressure and the impact they have on you. You need to have a strong set of morals and when you're pressured, you need to say no! Just say no! If you can't and don't want to get bullied anymore just say you have a previous commitment or something like that. Find another way out, make up an excuse and stick with it. Get friends or an adult to help you out of the situation. In conclusion its okay to say no and stand up for yourself!

Therefore teen issues are very serious and can result in some horrible events. Suicide, rape, and murder can result in the negative side of this matter. We need to stop it before it starts!

Teacher

If I had to teach our whole class, I would be very stressed out and sad all the time. We don't mean to be hurtful it's just our actions show otherwise. We have gotten away with acting the way we do for years and years so it's not like were about the change. For new teachers trying to make a difference in our lives this is very hard and frustrating. Honestly I don't know what I would do if I was in our teachers position. I appreciate the fact that you, mrs. haney, treat us with respect and realize that were just kids, we make mistakes and you accept that. If I were a teacher in our class I would try to be more strict but at the same time be fun and "cool". We are just undisciplined. A teacher needs to make sure they show the respect for us, that in turn will get you more respected. Awards for when were good, like say a movie every once and a while. Also detentions need to be inforced again but properly. If I were my teacher honestly I think I'm an okay student. I try to get my assignments in on time but sometimes I can't. I try to be respectful and listen to instructions, but I often talk to much. That I apologize for. So if I were my teacher I would be more strict on my talking and not paying attention all the time.

Hero

My hero is my daddy. My dad is the strongest, hardest working person I know and is always loving. He always gives me great advice and makes sure I know right from wrong. He loves me very much and I'm secretly his favourite child. He isn't a policmen, a firefighter, or someone who has saved a entire country from poverty, he's just my dad. He means the world to me and I look up to him everyday.
